Charsi Chicken Karahi

Charsi Chicken Karhai is a popular dish from a specific restaurant in Peshawar. Named after the founder of the restaurant, it’s cooked with very simple ingredients, its amazingly flavorful and very easy to make!

Directions :-

  1. In a wok or karhai, add the oil and ghee and heat it up on medium-high heat.
  2. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken in, stirring occasionally until it starts to brown up (about 10-15 minutes) .
  3. Add the tomatoes in, whole, reduce heat to medium-low and cook covered for 10-15 minutes.
  4. At this point the tomatoes should soft.
  5. Carefully remove about half the oil/ghee.
  6. Mash the tomatoes to form a gravy, and add in the salt and chilis.
  7. Increase heat and stir-fry until the oil separates out (about 5 minutes) .
  8. Serve with hot naan.
